The program synthesis below is a reflection of my experiences, knowledge, and practices over the course of my MA program in Organization, Information, Learning Sciences. This is also available as a PDF.
This page also includes, additional work samples and projects.
Additional Projects
This Book is Anti-Racist
I created and facilitated a book study of Tiffany Jewell’s This Book is Anti-Racist. The book study is designed for use in a professional learning community of teachers. I designed this book study using culturally inclusive practices, so while the materials are appropriate for a wide variety of educators, they can also easily be adapted for other learners (i.e. adolescents, administrators).
A sample of facilitation materials can be found here.
Explora
I worked collaboratively in a team to engage in an analysis of Explora’s onboarding needs. This project involved conducting various types of analyses (needs, gap, stakeholders). As a team, we utilized SAM & ADDIE to rapidly design and prototype a learning product.
This resulted in the development of self-paced interactive learning modules using Google Slides.

Remote Learning Course Design in the Era of Covid-19
While Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools has provided access to chromebooks, wifi hotspots, and Canvas in recent years, the Covid-19 pandemic and emergency transition to fully online learning requires that CMS and its teachers rethink their approach to teaching & learning,
This position paper argues for an instructional design approach that emphasizes cultural inclusivity.
During this time I have volunteered as an instructional designer to assist teachers in creating accessible and inclusive Canvas courses. A sample of Canvas pages can be found here.
Pear Deck Coaching
Pear Deck is an interactive instructional technology tool that operates within Google Slides as an add-on. As a certified regional Pear Deck coach, I have experience in planning & training high school teachers in how to utilize this tool in their own instruction.
My coaching is informed by my knowledge of adult learning theories and understanding of best practices in facilitation.
A sample of my social studies training deck can be accessed here.
Curriculum Consultation
I have supported curriculum development at NewGen Peacebuilders, a peace education program for youth. During the 2019-2020 academic year, I reviewed and revised curriculum and facilitation materials for NGP’s new middle school initiative.
This project’s success was dependent on:
my ability to contract with the client to establish goals and expectations;
my ability to effectively manage project responsibilities remotely;
my ability to maintain clear and effective communication:
my knowledge of culturally inclusive instructional design.
